Happy Birthday Katie!

The boys were both invited to celebrate Katie's birthday at Build-A-Bear on July 14th. It was their first time there...ever...(I know...I know...how awful of me)! ANYWAY!!! They had a wonderful time and I'm very glad they were able to share that special time with Katie! Thank you Wells family for making this a special day for not only your family, but ours too! We all had a really great time!

Our Sweet Toothless Wonder!!!

The tooth fairy is very busy here at the Hoglo Abode! Doesn't he look cute?
Thanks to Jeanne Mumper, Lukas is missing two front teeth...one from the top, which Jeanne removed after Karate class. We begged her to do it for us, since he wouldn't let us come near it!
Thanks Jeanne, you're the best~

Then a few days later, he let his Dad pull out the bottom one, he was so excited! He could barely stand still, note the background of the picture is NOT blurry! He thinks he's gonna be rich!

Happy....Happy....Everything....!!!

Upon returning from our 4th of July weekend, we took Mom & Dad to celebrate their 52nd Wedding Annniversary again. This time to Black Angus. We love having them live so close, it's a real blessing.

Then we celebrated another year in the life of the John Duane Hoglo...aka...Jack, Dad & Grandpa!! We told him we'd take him to Black Angus again, but he said he wanted Telly's instead! So there we are celebrating his 74th birthday, and the staff even sang Happy Birthday to him. I've never seen them do that at Telly's before, so I know he's a regular there and they love him!

It's Independance Day

In August 2007, our friends Mike & Erin invited us to join them in their new trailer aka Mansion on Wheels, for our Church campout in Lake Isabella. Well to make a long story short, the hitch broke! Though we made the best of it and had a nice time...I'm sure it's an adventure we NEVER want to re-live!
They invited us to go camping this year over the 4th of July and we gladly joined them again! Thankfully, nothing broke on this trip, so we played games, watched movies and went into town to Erin's Dad's house for a BBQ and the firework show. The fireworks show was so HUGE we didn't know where to look. The city had a show to our right, the college straight ahead, and a very wealthy neighbor to our left.
Jonathan wanted to be in charge of Wyatt & Lukas and the fireworks they were going to light in the cul-de-sac, and he did a wonderful job keeping all the little ones safe! Thank you Jonathan, and thank you Mike & Erin for another great trip in the Augusta Manor! We look forward to our next trip together!
The pictures of the RV are just to show you how bad we had it "Slummin' in the Augusta's Trailer". BTW, the trailer in the background in the picture of Erin & I, is NOT theirs. I just thought I'd mention that since I'm bragging about how wonderful their RV is! It really is, and if you're blessed enough to be invited...you should go!!!

Celebrating Ashley!

On July 3rd, we went to Corner Bakery and celebrated sweet Ash's birthday! We had a nice time. I know I speak for all of us when I say that our lives are richly blessed by our friendship with Ashley! Ash, you are an inspiration to me and I love you very much! Your friendship and your family mean the world to me and I thank our sweet Jesus for making us friends! You are always in my thoughts and in my prayers!

Double Date with the Ratliffs

We went out on a breakfast date today with our dear friends Craig & Kathy. We've known them for over 16 years and love them dearly. We went on our double date to Grandville Cafe in the new Americana in Glendale, in order to celebrate Chris' birthday. (Though we are closer to Craigs birthday now-Yeah, we get to get together again real soon.)
It was a beautiful day for breakfast on a patio with good friends, strolling around the outdoor garden, shopping, and visiting. We love Craig & Kathy so much and love spending time with them!

My Health

Thank you to all who have continued to check up on me and have been praying. I'm glad to write that I have wonderful news to share with all of you! The Lord has blessed me and I have not been numb in over 4 weeks...today! I am only seeing my chiropractor once a week, instead of 3 times a week. I started working out 3 days a week and as of June 2, I'm up to 5 days a week! (Thank you Julie for your love, encouragment, and singing!!!--I have it on tape!!!) I really believe that with weight loss, regular exercise and seeing my chiro as needed, (...oh yeah,...and if I stop falling down) I can continue to have full feeling in my leg, fingers & neck, Lord willing of course. I will continue to keep you posted with any other changes (if any). So please continue to pray for me and my health!
I love you all! ~~Georg

June, June, June...my busy June!

Well, let me just start out by saying that June is (was) a VERY BUSY month for us here at the Hoglo Home! So, I thought it would jus be easier to post it all at the end of the month, which is what I am attempting to do right now. We started the month with two Birthdays, one 52nd Anniversary, Father's Day, Promotion, a Book Sale, Tuesdys at the Pool, swim lessons, a trip to Magic Mountain and an nice visit from the Worlds Greatest Brother! (He's cute too!) We had a blast just hanging out with family and celebrating the lives that the Lord has blessed us with! I hope you enjoy the slide shows!
~~ Georg
PS...My boys & I earned free tickets to Magic Mountain, through a reading program in February this year! They are wonderful readers and I could NOT be prouder of them!

Our support group Lighthouse, did a wonderful job. We are very honored and grateful to be a part of such a special group of ladies & families who not only believe in homeschooling but support our endeavor ~ The Lord has richly blessed us!

HAPPY 47th BIRTHDAY CHRIS !

We celebrated Chris' birthday today. The boys wrapped up some old toys and an old cell phone (with A LOT of tape) and gave them to Chris for his birthday. I helped them bake his cake and write on it, they did a great job...if I may say so myself.

We took him out to lunch, he got his hair cut where they gave him the special MVP treatment on the house. Then we gave him the rest of his presents. We also celebrated my in-laws 52nd wedding anniversary, so it was a day FULL of celebrations, what joy!

We Love the Zoo!

OK, so I'm a little behind in my posting...
We (Wyatt, Lukas & me) went to the zoo on Thrusday, May 29th with my friend Patti and her 5 kids, Grace, Faith, Victoria, Ethan & Calvin. We had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect and the kids got along great! Wyatt & Grace and Lukas & Faith became the best of friends and all Patti & I could do was laugh! Kids are so funny!

HOW TIME FLIES!

Tagged by Lauren AGAIN!!!

WHAT I WAS DOING 20 YEARS AGO (MAY 1988)
Turning 20, I was wild and wreckless, so no doubt I was up to no good and won't get into specifics. (notice the date isn't as specific as Laurens dates are ... my dates are blurry).
Please note that this was 11 years before I knew the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior!

WHAT I WAS DOING 15 YEARS AGO (MAY 1993)
Started skydiving w/my best bud Karin (I call her Kar-bear) and met the love of my life, Christopher John Hoglo! (I have over 300 skydives & my hubby has over 1,500) this was a sport for us, NOT a one time event!

WHAT I WAS DOING 10 YEARS AGO (MAY 1998)
Getting married and on my honeymoon (1 week in Lake Tahoe then 1 week Kauai, HI).
Then returning to look for a job in Santa Clarita, I had just quit my job in hell aka Criminal Defense Lawfirm.

WHAT I WAS DOING 5 YEARS AGO (MAY 2003)
Raising my 1 and 3 year old boys...and loving every minute of it!

WHAT I WAS DOING 1 YEAR AGO (MAY 2007)
Wrapping up our school year and getting ready for Summer Fun!

WHAT I WAS DOING YESTERDAY (MAY 22, 2008)
Discovering that I lost the fight to my first cold in 2008. I began to pack up school stuff. School ended for Lukas on Friday the 16th and for Wyatt Wednesday the 21st, so now it's time for me to pack it all up and store it all away! Yipee!

Our 10th Wedding Anniversay 05/02/08

Those of you (anyone?) who actually takes the time to read my blog knows that we went to a Marriage Retreat last month. Well, our 10 year wedding anniversary was Friday, May, 2nd 2008, so we decided to make the Marriage Retreat our anniversary gift to each other. We then decided to SURPRISE Wyatt & Lukas with a trip to the "happiest place on earth" on our actual anniversary date. They have NEVER EVER been because Chris and I decided long ago, to wait until they were old enough, not only to remember it, but to ride on everything possible. (Lukas was too short for only one ride (Maliboomer) at California Adventure, and we made them go on EVERYTHING else. OK...back to the surprise...they finally found out on our drive down there the night before. We asked them to read that sign on the freeway "DISNEYLAND...NEXT EXIT!" they screamed. We got a hotel nearby, in order to be close the next morning. When we walked through the gates their reactions brought tears of joy to my eyes~I know it's silly, but there is something really special about seeing your beautiful, fun~loving children so giddy! Needless to say we had a blast, we were at Disneyland from open to close on Thursday 05/01, and California Adventure from open to close on Friday 05/02. We enjoyed the fireworks on our way out of California Adventure and my husband said that he had them specially arranged for our 10th Anniversary...isn't he sweet? (he's a big fat liar...but sweet nonetheless).
Anyway here's some pictures! Who looks happier...the boys or me?
Love,
Georg

Winchester Cheese Farm

Here is a slideshow of our field trip to Winchester Cheese Farm in April 2008. We went with our wonderful home school group, Lighthouse. The boys learned a lot about Gouda Cheese, and had great questions. It was a long day, but we are glad we went.
